The Daiwa Zakana Casting Jig – Maiwashi is a saltwater casting jig built to imitate small baitfish with long-casting performance and a lifelike swimming action. Its Maiwashi finish matches a natural sardine profile, making it a strong choice when yellowtail, tuna, calico bass, and other predators are keyed in on slender forage.

Key Features

• Rear-Weighted Design: Helps the jig cast long distances with accuracy while adding a side-to-side kick on the retrieve.
• Horizontal Line Tie: Promotes a wider, more natural swimming action compared with standard vertical line-tie jigs.
• Wire-Through Construction: Built for durability when targeting hard-striking saltwater game fish.
• Heavy-Duty Hardware: Rigged with quality VMC hooks and strong split rings for dependable performance.

Daiwa designed the Zakana to perform across multiple techniques, including casting, jigging, and even trolling in select situations. Its aerodynamic and hydrodynamic body helps reduce resistance in the air and creates a subtle baitfish motion once it enters the water. The large black eyes add an extra strike target for fish attacking from below or behind.

This 100g Daiwa Zakana measures approximately 5 inches and is well suited for longer casts, faster sink rates, deeper water, and offshore applications where reaching active fish quickly can make the difference.
