Van Staal VRII50 Bailed Spinning Reel

The Van Staal VRII50 Series Bailed Spinning Reel is the latest evolution of the VR platform, offering a fully sealed, lightweight design with the strength and reliability expected from Van Staal saltwater spinning reels. Built from fully machined 6061 aluminum, this reel features a waterproof drag system, stainless steel gearing, and factory versatility with both a bail and bailless conversion kit included.

A fully machined 6061 aluminum body provides a rigid, corrosion-resistant frame while keeping weight reduced for active casting applications. The sealed body and spool design protect internal components from water intrusion, supporting consistent performance in harsh saltwater environments. A stainless-steel spiral-bevel gear system delivers efficient power transfer and long-term durability under load. The waterproof drag system maintains steady pressure in wet conditions, while the Power Grip handle and drag knob improve cranking leverage and adjustment control. Each reel includes a bail-less conversion kit, allowing anglers to fish in either bailed or bailless configuration depending on preference.
